London Recruiter Launches Singapore Office

Selby Jennings is launching a Singapore office in response to strong Asia growth

Selby Jennings,
the London-based recruitment firm with a wealth and private banking business,
is launching a Singapore office in response to soaring business in the
fast-growth region.

Selby Jennings
currently does around a third of its business in the main financial
centres of Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney and Tokyo, and increasingly in
Shanghai, Beijing and Seoul. Business out of Asia has grown by 68 per cent over
the last three years, said the firm.

James Brown will move over to head up the Singapore office as associate
director and Asia Pacific head. He will be joined Kieran Behan and Steve
Yendell from London as executive directors of the global business.

“We are not just
here to make up the numbers in Singapore,” said James Brown, head of Asia
Pacific at the recruiter.

Brown added that
the firm is considering a move into other countries in the region in
future.  “As a gateway to the rest of
Asia if we are half as successful as we believe we will be I would hope that
China, Indonesia Australia and Malaysia are only a few years away.”
