The Leeds office of Singer & Friedlander is to move to Newton Investment Management. Both firms confirmed the move, but would not comment any further on the development.

Singer employs four private client investment managers in its Leeds office, which is managed by Chris Flather – a long-time employee of Singer.

The move comes after Singer lost a team of 10 wealth mangers to Close Brothers, the UK investment and wealth management group, in April.

A Singer spokesman told WealthBriefing that a number of hires are due to be announced very soon, which will go some way to replace the recent departures.

A spokeswoman for Newton said more information on the Leeds purchase would be announced in the third quarter.
