The CIO leads a team of investment professionals based in Hong Kong, London and Zurich.
Union Bancaire Privée has appointed Sergio Trigo Paz as chief investment officer and head of emerging market fixed income and named Soledad Rocio Acoroni as portfolio manager.
Based in London, Paz leads a team of nine investment professionals based in Zurich, London and Hong Kong. Until March this year, he was head of emerging market debt at BlackRock where he spent 10 years. Prior to joining Blackrock in 2012, Paz was head of emerging markets fixed income and then CIO at BNP Paribas Investment Partners. Before 2004, he held trading and market-making positions in emerging market debt with a variety of institutions in New York, London and Paris.
Acoroni, who is joining the UBP team in Zurich, was previously at Larrain Vial AM in Chile. At Larrain Vial AM, she worked as portfolio manager focusing on LatAm corporate debt strategies, low-carbon ESG LatAm debt strategies and Argentinian sovereign and corporate debt strategies.
Sergio Trigo Paz has taken over from Thomas Christiansen as head of EM fixed income at UBP while his position as CIO for emerging markets is a newly created role, a spokesperson for the firm told this news service when asked about the matter.
