Credit Suisse Recruits Ex-Julius Baer Figure Down Under

The appointee is a non-executive director with Greenpeace in Australia, a sign of how evironmental activism is no barrier to working in the private banking space, and of how ESG investing is now mainstream.

Credit Suisse in Australia has appointed a former senior Julius Baer and UBS investment advisory figure, and a non-executive director for environmentalist lobby group Greenpeace.

Loughlin Magowan, based in Melbourne, Victoria, joined the Swiss bank this month as a relationship manager, having been at Julius Baer in the UK for almost five years – leaving in January 2020 – where he was head of investment advisory UK, and before that, head of UBS Advisory, UK, according to his Linkedin profile.

This news service has contacted Credit Suisse for comment and may update in due course.

Magowan, who is non-executive director for Greenpeace Australia Pacific, has been in the role since September, his profile said.
