Carey Olsen Adds Bermuda Expertise To Hong Kong
Demand for advice on Bermuda-based structures has led the offshore law firm to appoint two figures in its Hong Kong office.
Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has added Bermudians Henry Tucker and Kyle Masters to its Hong Kong office in a bid to boost its expertise on Bermudan law.
The duo were previously members of the dispute resolution and litigation practice at Carey Olsen Bermuda. The Hong Kong office now has British Virgin Islands (BVI), Cayman Islands and Bermuda qualified lawyers.
In July, Carey Olsen also launched a corporate practice in Hong Kong, appointing Michael Padarin, who specialises in the formation, operation and restructuring of private investment funds, primarily private equity and venture capital funds, and their related fund sponsor vehicles.
"They each bring with them a great amount of expertise and knowledge and we're delighted that Henry and Kyle are joining us at such an exciting time for Carey Olsen in Hong Kong. The size of our team continues to grow in response to client demand and the ability to now offer Bermuda law advice on the ground in Asia further strengthens our offering,” Padarin said.
Tucker advises on all aspects of offshore commercial and trust litigation with a specific focus on arbitration, enforcement and insolvency issues. He has more than 10 years' experience before the Commercial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in Bermuda. Masters is experienced in regulatory and compliance law, internal and external risk mitigation, corporate governance and enforcement actions. He has also appeared before the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in Bermuda undertaking a wide variety of commercial and civil litigation.
