State Street Names New Asia-Pacific Chief

The financial services group, which serves wealth managers and other organisations, has named a new chief for the region.

State Street, the US-based financial services group, has named Ian Martin as Asia-Pacific head, adding to his existing role as head of global services for the region.

Martin takes over from Wai-Kwong Seck who, after eight years in the role, has decided to pursue other opportunities closer to his home town of Singapore, the firm said in a statement yesterday.

Martin, a 25-year State Street veteran, has been in several leadership roles across the firm and in multiple locations in the region. He will continue to be based in Hong Kong and report to Andrew Erickson, head of global services worldwide.

The firm, which has operated in Asia-Pacific for more than 40 years, has offices worldwide including Australia, Japan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand and Brunei.
