Raffles Family Office Adds Family Governance Expert
The organisation has dual headquarters in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Asia’s Raffles Family Office (RFO) has appointed Dr Niti Nerngchamnong as a board advisor. He will offer counsel in areas such as family governance and succession planning to RFO's clients, the firm said in a statement.
Nerngchamnong, who brings over 20 years of legal and business expertise experience, currently serves as the managing partner of NITI Law Office and NITI Academy Bangkok. Nerngchamnong also holds several board and advisory positions, including director of the international affairs committee at the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, and independent director and audit committee and chairman of risk committees for multiple public companies. Nerngchamnong is also on the panel of arbitrators and panel of mediators of the Thailand Arbitration Centre (THAC).
“The right family governance structure is often overlooked or underutilised for wealth planning,” Chi Man Kwan, group CEO and co-founder of Raffles Family Office, said. “His expertise and vast network across Southeast Asia will augment our ability to provide excellent counsel to our clients," he added.
According to the Asia-Pacific Family Office Report 2023 by RFO and Campden Wealth, only 11 per cent of Asia-Pacific family offices have a formal, written plan that is legally enforceable. In contrast, a generational shift in control is on the horizon, with a substantial 71 per cent anticipating a generational shift over 10 years, the firm said.
In July, RFO also appointed former RBC Wealth Management CEO for Asia, Terence Chow, as chief operating officer. See more commentary here.
