Banque Edmond de Rothschild said that it grew assets under management by 30 per cent in 2005 to €21 billion ($25.6 billion). The Paris- and Geneva-based bank of the Rothschild family said it has doubled assets under management in the last three years.

Net new money came in at €2.8 billion in 2005, compared withn €2.3 billion in 2004.

Edmond de Rothschild said that its private wealth management segment increased assets under management by 27 per cent in 2005, but gave no figure for AUMs in this category.

The bank said that its structured products division, Edmond de Rothschild Financial Services, grew assets under management by 80 per cent in 2005 to €2.5 billion.

Edmond de Rothschild Multi Management subsidiary saw AUMs double last year to €2.1 billion.

The bank also said that it has opened a representative office in Shanghai. The move represents the first foreign family-controlled bank to obtain approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to enter China’s financial market.
