Pakistan's Soneri Bank has appointed Atif Bajwa as its new president and chief executive.

Bajwa brings over 28 years of financial services experience to the company, having served at the likes of Citibank Karachi, ABN Amro, Citibank and Mashreqbank. He was latterly the president and CEO of MCB Bank in Pakistan.

He takes over from Safar Ali Lakhani, who will retire after 19 years in the post.

Soneri Bank offers a wide range of traditional and Islamic financial products and services. It has over 150 branches across the country.
