UBP Ushers In New Asia CEO
Union Bancaire Privee has appointed Lawrence Lo as chief executive and head of sales for Asia ex-Japan for its asset management unit.
Lo brings almost 35 years of experience in asset management to the company. Most recently, he served as CEO of BSI Generali Asia, where he was responsible for wealth and asset management activities in the Far East. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at BNP Paribas, where he became managing director and regional head of BNP Paribas Asset Management Group.
In his new role, he also takes up a seat on the executive committee of UBP Asset Management. The position is based in Hong Kong.
His appointment comes at a time the Swiss asset manager is gearing up for an expansion into the emerging markets sector, with Asia, in particular, as a key growth area.
