Canada-headquartered has held a “topping out” ceremony to celebrate the completion of the concrete construction of Manulife Tower - its future headquarters in Hong Kong.
The new 21-storey office is located at 83 Hoi Bun Road, Kowloon East and in Hong Kong’s second Central Business District (CBD2). It is one of the two buildings of the One Bay East project currently being developed by Wheelock Properties. Manulife signed an agreement to purchase the office building in April 2013 for HK$4.5 billion ($580,000).
The firm owns 16 other office properties in Asia, totaling approximately 900,000 square feet. The Hong Kong building comprises around 512,000 square feet. It is expected to be finished at the end of next year and Manulife intends to move in during 2016.
