Wellington Management, Citi
, the Boston-based independent investment manager with $1.3 trillion in assets under management, has extended its partnership with Citibank (Hong Kong) to give the bank’s retail clients access to the Wellington Asia Technology Fund.
The fund is already offered to Citi Hong Kong’s private banking clients. The new arrangement takes it beyond that client base to the bank’s wider retail customers. The fund is managed by Yash Patodia, its portfolio manager and Wellington’s sector co-head of technology. It has more than $1.5 billion in AuM and draws on an Asia technology strategy with a track record of nearly 20 years.
The fund takes an active, all-cap approach, holding a concentrated portfolio of typically 45 to 75 stocks.
“Strong local partnerships are central to Wellington’s growth strategy across Asia-Pacific,” Elizabeth Chisholm, head of APAC distribution at Wellington Management, said.
