Peter Seah (main picture) will be retiring as chairman of DBS Group Holdings and DBS Bank on 31 December 2026. Anthony Lim (pictured below), a current board member, will be succeeding him on 1 January 2027. Anthony Lim Seah will remain with the Singapore-headquartered lender as a senior advisor for one year in a handover, which the bank said was part its process of renewing the board. The change will complete a generational shift at the top of DBS. Tan Su Shan took over as chief executive officer from Piyush Gupta in March 2025, after Gupta had led the bank since 2009. Tan previously ran the bank’s consumer banking and wealth management business before moving to institutional banking. Lim, who has sat on the DBS boards since April 202, has chaired the compensation and management development committee, overseeing succession planning for the chief executive transition. He sits on the board executive and board risk management committees. Before retiring from executive roles in 2017, he held senior positions at GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and Bankers Trust, working in Singapore, London and New York. Seah became chairman in 2010. Since then, DBS said its income has more than tripled and net profit has risen more than fourfold. In July 2026, its market capitalisation passed S$200 billion, roughly six times its size at the end of 2009, making it Singapore’s largest listed company. DBS reported Q3 figures on Thursday. “One of the board’s most important responsibilities is ensuring continuity of leadership,” Seah said. “Having completed the CEO transition to Su Shan, the bank is now entering its next chapter from a position of strength.”
