Deutsche Bank Appoints Southeast Asia Vice Chair

said this week that Jennifer Tay (main picture) – formerly of Citibank – has joined the German lender as vice chair for Southeast Asia, reporting to head of Southeast Asia, Johanes Oeni.

Tay’s appointment takes effect on 3 August. A spokesperson confirmed the contents of a memo seen by this news service.

In her new role with Deutsche Bank, Tay will work closely with Oeni’s Southeast Asia leadership to strengthen engagement with key clients, provide senior coverage, and support the continued growth of One Bank Solutions and its important role in the strategic success of Deutsche Bank as the Global Hausbank. 

Most recently at Citigroup, Tay, who has more than two decades’ industry experience, served as market executive, investment counselling head, for Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia New Zealand and Asia South. While leading this business, she also handled a number of “UHNW platinum clients” in the Singapore and Indonesia markets, the memo said.

Tay will work with Oeni’s Southeast Asia leadership team to strengthen engagement with key clients, provide senior coverage, and support the continued growth of One Bank Solutions. 

“Jennifer brings vast banking and wealth management experience including in managed investments sales and investment and portfolio counselling, and leading teams spanning Singapore, Hong Kong, the Middle East and London,” the memo said.

Tay holds a bachelor of business administration with honours from the National University of Singapore.
