, the international real estate firm, has appointed Jon Tanaka as senior managing director and country head for Japan. Reporting to Ray Lawler, CEO of Asia-Pacifice, Tanaka is responsible for overseeing new business initiatives in the country alongside managing director, Drew Huffman.

Tanaka is joining an expanding team in Japan which has added numerous business generation, development, and construction team members in the last 12 months. More local hiring is underway with additional personnel expected to join in early 2022, Hines said in a statement. 

With more than 20 years’ real estate development and investment experience, Tanaka was managing director, head of Japan real estate and a member of the investment committee for Angelo Gordon’s pan-Asia real estate investment team. Previously, he was MD at RREEF Japan.
