BEA (China) Illuminates Banking Past

China’s banking industry sometimes comes across as freshly-minted, but one of its lenders has opened a museum to point out how far back the country’s sector goes.

The Bank of East Asia (China), part of , has officially opened the Shanghai and Hong Kong Museum of Banking History in its building located in Puxi, Shanghai. 

Featuring a timeline, the museum shows the changes and integration of the banking industry in the two cities of Hong Kong and China from the mid-19th century to the present.
