British Virgin Islands-headquartered law firm Harneys has hired Aki Corsoni-Husain into its Regulatory Group from the financial markets and regulatory group of Denton Wilde Sapte in London. At DWS he advised on a wide range of financial regulatory issues including the trading of securities and derivative products, anti-money laundering regulations and investment management arrangements.

Ross Munro, Harneys' BVI head of investment funds and regulatory practice, said:  "We have been advising clients on the BVI's recently amended anti-money laundering regulation. We are also currently reviewing the draft of the long-awaited Regulatory Code and will be making submissions to the Financial Services Commission. Aki's input in this process will be of great value."

Mr Corsoni-Husain’s hire follows that of fellow regulatory lawyer Jennifer Deacon, who joined the group from London barristers’ chambers 5 Fountain Court earlier this year.
