Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? Fitch, BNP Paribas

The latest moves in wealth management across Asia-Pacific.
Fitch
Fitch Ratings,
the global credit rating house, has appointed Matthew Ginsburg as
chairman for the Asia-Pacific region. He takes over from Bernard
de Lattre, who is stepping down from the role, but will remain at
Fitch for the foreseeable future to ensure a smooth
transition.
Reporting to Ian Linnell, President of Fitch Ratings, Ginsburg provides strategic oversight and direction to the Asia-Pacific team as part of a non-executive role.
Originally from the US, Ginsburg has been based in Hong Kong since 1992. During his career he has held various senior management positions within sizeable businesses in Asia, most recently as head of investment banking, Asia-Pacific for Barclays, where he was also a member of the bank's global investment banking executive committee and its Asia-Pacific management committee.
Ginsburg joined First Boston in New York in 1986, subsequently serving the bank in Tokyo and in Hong Kong within mergers and acquisitions. He then joined Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong where his responsibilities included the post of chief operating officer of investment banking, head of the financial institutions group, and head of investment banking.
BNP Paribas
BNP Paribas Asset Management, part of BNP Paribas, has
appointed Paul Sandhu as head of multi-assets quant solutions and
client advisory Asia-Pacific with immediate effect. The role is a
newly-formed one.
Based in Hong Kong, Sandhu reports to Anton Wouters, head of solutions and client advisory. He will lead the region’s MAQS team to enhance BNPP AM’s existing investment capacities in this space. He is also responsible for developing and the implementation of bespoke investment products.
Sandhu previously worked at Conning where he was central to setting up its business operations in Asia as managing director and head of investment solutions. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BSc with a specialisation in theoretical physics. He is also an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
