Who’s Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Utmost, RQI

The latest senior wealth management moves, appointments and personnel changes in the Asia-Pacific industry.

Utmost
Utmost, a global provider of insurance-based wealth solutions with assets under administration of ÂŁ123.4 billon ($163.87 billion), has appointed Natalie Yeo (pictured) as head of High Net Worth Underwriting, based in Singapore, effective from 6 October 2026.

Yeo, who has more than 25 years of insurance and reinsurance leadership experience across Asia, has served in senior leadership and underwriting roles with global firms including AIA, Reinsurance Group of America, Transamerica, Swiss Re China Branch Beijing, and Munich Re.

The firm said that her appointment would strengthen Utmost’s specialist underwriting capability for HNW clients and support the continued expansion of its Variable Universal Life (VUL) proposition across Asia.

“Her appointment is a clear statement of intent for our Asia business and reflects the increasing demand we are seeing for Silk Life Plan, our variable universal life solution,” Mark Christal, head of Asia at Utmost, said. “Natalie’s regional underwriting expertise and strong broker relationships will be instrumental as we accelerate our growth plans and strengthen our position as a leading provider of open-architecture insurance-based wealth solutions in Asia.”

RQI Investors
RQI Investors, an active quantitative equities manager within the First Sentier Group, has appointed four investment and research professionals, bringing its team to 25. The hires follow four appointments made earlier in 2026.

John Conomos, who was previously head of global quantitative research at Macquarie Group, is joining as investment director, covering client engagement, consultant relationships, product development and thought leadership.

Dr Chang Hwan Sung will become senior quantitative portfolio manager, working across the firm's Global Value and Diversified Alpha strategies. Previously, he served in senior portfolio management and quantitative investment roles at Invesco, BlackRock and Samsung Asset Management.

Sam Machen is joining as quantitative research developer from Jacobi, where he held quantitative modelling and software engineering positions.

James Sutherland, who was previously a quant trader developer at Tibra Capital specialising in global futures and equities, will become a quantitative researcher.
