The latest moves and appointments for senior roles for Asia-Pacific wealth management.
Harneys
Offshore law firm Harneys has bolstered its Hong
Kong litigation, insolvency and restructuring group with the
appointment of Calvin Chow as a partner, subject to approval
from the Hong Kong Law Society
Chow has extensive experience in complex commercial disputes, advising both PRC-based and international clients on a myriad of issues, including listed company disputes, shareholder disputes, insolvency matters, and family disputes such as contentious probates. He also advises on claims involving fraud and funds' disputes in multiple jurisdictions, the firm said in a statement.
Before joining Harneys, Chow was a partner at a Hong Kong law firm. For over a decade, he advised lawyers and insurers as a panel solicitor under the Hong Kong Solicitors Professional Indemnity Scheme. Chow is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, the firm continued.
The hire follows the appointment of Nick Hoffman as the new global head of the litigation, insolvency, and restructuring group just last week. See more here.
“His knowledge, experience, and multilingual capabilities make him a valuable addition to the team in Hong Kong and across our global offices,” Paula Kay, head of litigation in Hong Kong, said.
Harneys provides advice on British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Bermuda and Anguilla law to an international client base which includes law firms, financial institutions, investment funds and private individuals.
