Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - RAM, Kingswood, Others

The latest moves in wealth management from across Europe and the Middle East.

Kingswood Holdings
Kingswood Holdings, the UK-based wealth and investment firm, has appointed Richard Klein as head of alternatives and distribution. He will take on the title of partner and managing director.

For almost all of his 30-plus year investment banking career, Klein worked at Merrill Lynch, before becoming business development head of Red Deer, a financial technology start-up spun out of a hedge fund. He joins Kingswood as departing CEO of Z Investment Management, the specialist advisory boutique in global financials and bank capital.

RAM Active Investments
Geneva-based RAM Active Investments, which oversees €4.0 billion of assets, has opened a Milan office, and hired Gianluca Carnevale Garè as head of sales for Italy's retail market.

The office adds to the firm's offices in Zurich and Luxembourg and its Geneva HQ.

The firm said it began its Italian move last July by signing a deal with CheBanca!. The organisation has worked with a number of parties in Italy for several years, such as fund selectors and managers. The Milan office will bring the RAM business closer to retail and institutional distribution networks.

Carnevale Garè joins from Sempione SIM, a boutique active asset manager and investment consultancy, where he held the position of head of business development for Italy. Previously he worked at Invesco, and before that, at Pictet Asset Management.

Raymond James
Raymond James, the international wealth management goup, has opened a new branch in Yorkshire in the UK, led by Andy McNab and Nick Gartland.

The branch will offer bespoke independent financial planning and investment management services to individuals, trusts, pension funds and charities.

McNab and Gartland have joined from Investec Wealth and Investment Management. McNab began his career at Redmayne Bentley before joining Investec in 2000, while Gartland began his career in 1987 at Alexander Stenhouse in Leeds, before moving to Sugden Rodgers, RSM Robson Rhodes and then Investec in 1999.

Nedbank Private Wealth
Nedbank Private Wealth, part of South Africa's Nedbank, has appointed David McFadzean as head of investments for Jersey.

McFadzean will initially concentrate on the corporate trustee sector, the firm said in a statement. He has more than 25 years’ experience in financial service. He joins RBC Wealth Management.
