Investments has named Joseph Wong as head of intermediary
channels based in Hong Kong in a newly-created role.
Wong will lead the Hong Kong team in developing intermediary clients and prospects, particularly private banks and external asset managers. He will also be in charge of defining the Hong Kong team’s strategy, reporting to head of distribution for Asia ex-Japan Berny Lin.
Wong joins from the Hong Kong office of Franklin Templeton Investments, where he spent more than a decade. He was most recently responsible for business development in wholesale, including private and retail banks, insurance companies, independent financial advisors, and investment platforms for Hong Kong and China.
Before that he spent three years at European alternative investments firm Superfund Financial responsible for business development in Hong Kong, China, Macau and the Philippines. He has also held various posts at AIG (now AIA), Bank of China (Hong Kong) and Shanghai Commercial Bank.
