The latest moves in wealth management across the Asia-Pacific region.
Fidelity International
Fidelity
International has appointed Bart Grenier as global head of
asset management, a newly-created role at the firm, according to
a spokesperson.
Grenier will report to Brian Conroy, president at Fidelity International.
In the new role, Grenier will be responsible for Fidelity’s investment management business across all major asset classes including equities, fixed income, multi asset and real estate. The respective global chief investment officers for these areas will report to him.
He joins from Fidelity Investments, where he held the role of head of investment solutions and innovation. He was previously chairman, chief executive and CIO at The Boston Company Asset Management, and was also CIO and managing director of DB Advisors at Deustche Asset Management.
Knight Frank
Knight Frank,
the independent global property consultancy, has
appointed Victoria Garrett as the head of residential
for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore.
Garrett is responsible for growing and developing Knight Frank’s residential business in APAC, which includes the marketing of overseas and local developments, sales and leasing. She works closely with the various local residential teams across APAC, ensuring the region is working in tandem with the UK headquarters, Douglas Elliman Fine Homes – Knight Frank’s residential partner in the US – and the firm’s businesses in EMEA.
Prior to moving to Singapore, Garrett spent four years in Dubai, where she was head of the new homes team covering the Middle East selling investment and prime residential properties to clients.
Garrett started in real estate 13 years ago in London. She first joined Knight Frank in 2011 as a specialist in house sales in Chelsea, South Kensington, Belgravia and Knightsbridge dealing with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients from around the world.
Mercer
Financial services firm Mercer has appointed Janet Li
as Asia wealth business leader. This is a newly-created
role.
Li reports to Lisa Sun, zone leader, South and East Asia, and she is based in Hong Kong.
In her new role, Li will lead the Wealth business team including both investments and retirement in South and East Asia.
She previously worked for Willis Towers Watson.
Carey Olsen
Law firm Carey Olsen has
strengthened its dispute resolution and insolvency practice in
Hong Kong with the appointment of Chinese and common law lawyer
Yang Yang.
Yang has previously worked for international law firm Ince & Co in both its Shanghai and London offices. He was an associate in HFW's Melbourne office prior to joining Carey Olsen.
He has experience advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters across several sectors, ranging from corporate restructuring and finance transactions, large scale insurance and shipping disputes, disputes in relation to sale and purchase of high value assets, to injunction and freezing orders, joint ventures and outbound overseas investment.
