Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? - ANZ, HDFC Bank

The latest moves in wealth management across Asia-Pacific.

ANZ
Banking group ANZ has announced The Hon. Warwick Smith AM will retire from his role as senior managing director and chairman of New South Wales and Australian Capital territory to focus on his interests outside of banking. 

Smith, who joined the bank in 2007, will continue to serve as board director of ANZ China and chair of ANZ Thailand. 

He will finish his current role at the end of February.

The firm did not state that it would be looking to replace Smith, or whether someone else will take over his responsibilities at the bank.

HDFC Bank
Mumbai-based HDFC Bank has appointed Rakesh Singh as head of private banking.

He will continue to head the bank’s investment banking, capital markets and financial institutions businesses, the firm said in a statement.

In this new role, Singh will report to Abhay Aima, country head - global consumer business, private banking and distribution, direct and digital banking and retail liabilities.

Singh has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining HDFC Bank, Singh was managing director and co-head-financing advisory at Rothschild. Earlier, he had held key positions at Morgan Stanley, DSP Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Investment Bank.
