Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – T Rowe Price, RBC BlueBay, Muzinich, Others

The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in the Asia-Pacific wealth management sector.

T Rowe Price 
T Rowe Price, an asset manager, has appointed Shuai Shao (main picture) as its head of China business. Shuai Shao joined the US-headquartered firm this month. Based in Hong Kong, she reports to George Chow, head of institutional distribution for North Asia.

Prior to this role, Shua Shao was head of Greater China business development at Nomura Asset Management. She also held senior client servicing and business development positions at DWS Group and Amundi. 

Muzinich & Co 
Muzinich & Co, a global public and private corporate credit specialist, has appointed Kelly Park as head of institutional clients, South Korea, effective immediately.

Based in Seoul, Park will work with the team to deepen the firm’s relationships with institutional investors in the country.

Park brings more than 17 years of experience across public and private markets, with a track record in fundraising for private credit strategies with South Korean institutional investors. Most recently, she served at Hyundai Investments, where she was division head of the global private equity and credit division. Earlier in her career, Park worked at UBS Hana Asset Management and GE Korea. 

The appointment follows the opening of Muzinich & Co’s representative office in South Korea last February.

RBC BlueBay Asset Management
RBC BlueBay Asset Management has appointed Mark Baker as a product strategist, based in Hong Kong. In this role, he supports business development and client service across Asia ex-Japan, serving as the region’s technical subject matter expert for the firm’s full investment product suite.

Baker has more than 15 years of fixed income portfolio management experience across global, emerging markets and Asia bond strategies, gained from roles at Threadneedle Investments and Standard Life/Aberdeen Investments in London and Hong Kong. He is joining from Bosera Asset Management where he worked on mainland China distribution initiatives and global credit platform development alongside portfolio management responsibilities.

Citigroup
Citigroup has appointed James Carolan as global head of foreign exchange structuring and solutions, reporting to Flavio Figueiredo, global head of FX at the US bank.

Carolan brings 15 years of industry experience to the bank. Most recently, he served at Deutsche Bank as the head of North Americas corporate macro structuring, global head of deal contingent structuring, and global head of institutional FX structuring. He began his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs in 2011, moving into markets in 2013.
