The latest moves and appointments for senior roles for Asia-Pacific wealth management.
Simmons & Simmons
International law firm Simmons &
Simmons has appointed Wendy Wong as a partner in its Hong
Kong employment group. The move is a return to the business for
Wong.
In her role she specialises in both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. In particular, she will focus on the financial institution and asset management and investment funds sectors.
During her prior time at Simmons, Wong completed secondments to the firm’s offices in London, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as with two major investment banks. She trained at the firm and ultimately worked with a wide variety of Hong Kong and China-based clients. She speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Bloomberg
The CEO of Bloomberg Index Services, part of news, business
information and data group Bloomberg is retiring and
will be succeeded by Dave Gedeon.
Steve Berkley will be retiring in March this year. Gedeon is currently serving as his deputy, the US firm said in a statement yesterday.
In his time with BISL, Gedeon has overseen the strategy and development of products and services for Bloomberg’s Multi-Asset Index business, including the commodity and alternatives index suite, multi-asset strategies, third-party calculation efforts and the global equity indices launch and subsequent expansion into emerging markets and thematic benchmarks.
Prior to Bloomberg, Gedeon was the global head of research and development at Nasdaq and was responsible for index product management, development, and research of Nasdaq Global Indexes.
During his career, Berkley was directly involved in Bloomberg’s acquisition of Barclays Risk Analytics and Index Solutions (BRAIS) in 2016.
