S64
S64, an alternatives and
technology partner for asset managers and private banks, has
appointed David Hallifax as head of Australia and New
Zealand.
Hallifax, who will be based in Melbourne, will spearhead the expansion of S64 and its delivery and technology capabilities in Australia and New Zealand. The appointment will bolster the company’s presence in Asia-Pacific (APAC) following recent senior hires, including in Japan. S64 sees the region as a source of growth for developing its private markets and technology solutions for wealth managers, private banks and asset managers, the firm said in a statement.
Hallifax brings over two decades of distribution and private markets experience to S64. He previously served as head of Australia and New Zealand funds at JP Morgan Asset Management for almost a decade. Prior to this, he served in senior leadership roles at Schroders and AMP Capital Investors, the firm continued.
“As the business expands at pace in APAC, David will establish our critical presence in Australia and New Zealand and bring our existing offering to a new level,” Tarun Nagpal, founder and CEO at S64, said. “His invaluable experience and skillset will be an asset as we continue to offer our clients industry-leading alternative platforms and solutions. Australia and New Zealand are strategic markets for S64 where we expect to significantly bolster our presence over the coming months.”
“We are seeing increasing interest in the private markets arena in Australia and New Zealand and S64 is well-positioned to tap into these opportunities with tailored local solutions,” Hallifax added.
His appointment is the latest in a series of hires amid rising demand for private markets products across Europe and APAC, the firm said. It follows the appointment of Hiroaki Ohhigashi as head of Japan in June 2023, highlighting S64’s ambition to pioneer solutions to capture the opportunities on offer across APAC.
