The latest moves, appointments and personnel changes in the Asia-Pacific wealth management sector.

Kong has named Brian Chan as chief financial officer, Viola
Chan as chief human resources officer and Alok Jha as chief
strategy and transformation officer, with immediate effect.
The appointees report dually to the Hong Kong CEO, Lawrence Lam, and their respective global function head, and serve as members of the Hong Kong executive committee.
Brian Chan (pictured below) has more than 23 years’ experience working at insurers, covering areas such as actuarial, finance, product, investment and risk management work.

Since 2022, Viola Chan (pictured below) has led Prudential Hong Kong’s talent, leadership, and learning and development strategy.

Chan is succeeding Callister Koh, who has moved to a senior position within the group. Koh has more than two decades’ people management experience.
Joining from the Prudential Group, Alok Jha (pictured below) is succeeding Yongjin Jiang, who has moved in the group for another role.

HSBC Asset Management, part of HSBC, has appointed Karim Ghannam
as global head of real assets and head of alternatives,
Singapore.
Ghannam has more than 25 years’ experience in the investment management sector. Prior to this new role, he worked at 8F Asset Management, an impact-focused private equity fund management firm that he co-founded in 2016. Most recently, he was chief investment officer at that business. Before that, he served in senior roles at firms including Deutsche Bank and Argan Capital.
In his new role, Ghannam reports to Joanna Munro, CEO of alternatives at HSBC Asset Management.

Citigroup has
appointed Vikram Chavali as managing director, head of global
asset managers for Japan, Australia and North Asia (JANA) and
Asia South.
Chevali will be joining Citi from Goldman Sachs, where he was head of Asia ex-Japan sponsors merger and acquisitions. Joining the US bank later in the UK, Chevali will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Ashu Khullar, global head of GAM and Jan Metzger, head of investment banking for JANA and Asia South.
The bank also has appointed Deepak Dangayach as MD and co-head of debt capital markets for JANA and Asia South.
Adrian Khoo, who heads the bonds debt and capital markets (DCM) teams for the Asia clusters, will expand his remit to be co-head of DCM for JANA and Asia South, along with Dangayach.
Khoo and Dangayach will report to Richard Zogheb, Citi’s global head of DCM.
