The latest appointments, moves and personnel changes in wealth management and related roles across Asia-Pacific.

DWS
DWS, the asset manager firm that is part of Deutsche Bank, has appointed one of its senior figures, Matthias Naumann (pictured below), as chief investment officer, real estate for Asia-Pacific. He will move to Sydney from DWS’ Frankfurt headquarters.

Naumann will report to Christopher Kimm, head of real estate, APAC (based in Singapore).

The appointment is DWS’ first “on the ground” real estate CIO, which it said demonstrates its growth aspirations.

Naumann joined DWS in 2013 as the head of European real estate strategy. Since 2019 he has served as the CIO of the European real estate platform, which holds more than €31 billion ($33.7 billion) in real estate assets under management. Since January 2021, Naumann has covered Asia-Pacific as the real estate CIO in a caretaker capacity alongside his European responsibilities.

Prior to DWS, Naumann served as a senior analyst at AXA Investment Managers, London and for Invesco Real Estate GmbH in Munich.

Simmons & Simmons
International law firm, Simmons & Simmons, has appointed Richard Li as a partner in the corporate and commercial team and as head of healthcare and life sciences, greater China.

Li, who has more than 15 years of industry experience, in particular focusing on the healthcare and life sciences sector, will be based in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
