The strategic investments team at the markets segment of Citigroup has appointed Nicholas Chin (main photograph) from JP Morgan to lead the Japan, Asia North & Australia, and Asia South team.

Chin reports to Siris Singh, head of markets strategic investments.

At JP Morgan, Chin worked for more than eight years at the US bank’s London office where he was responsible for venture and growth equity investments in the fintech sector. Prior to that, he spent nearly three years at Barclays London in various strategic innovation and investment roles.

The Citi Markets Strategic Investments team actively sources and executes venture investments in fintech companies and financial market infrastructure.

The team has members in locations such as London, New York, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

The insights and capabilities of such a team feed into the wider offering of Citigroup’s business divisions, including its private bank and wealth areas.
