Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – BlackRock

The latest moves, appointments and changes to senior wealth management roles across the Asia-Pacific region.

BlackRock has appointed Will Thomson as managing director and as a portfolio manager in the climate infrastructure team in New Zealand, effective July 2024.

The hire comes after the US asset manager said last year that it was to launch a New Zealand-focused strategy, via its Climate Infrastructure franchise.

Based in Auckland, Thomson sources climate infrastructure investment opportunities and manages the diligence, structuring, and closing of transactions in New Zealand. He has more than 15 years’ experience in private capital investment, portfolio management and corporate finance. Previously, he worked at Jarden. Prior to this, he was at Global Infrastructure Partners in Sydney and London and worked in the investment banking divisions of Credit Suisse and Jarden.

Earlier in 2024, BlackRock decided to open an Auckland office.
