Singapore’s SGX has
brought out (what it claims is) the world’s first exchange-traded
fund tracking Asia-Pacific’s financial sector has been launched.
The Lion-OCBC Securities APAC Financials Dividend Plus ETF was listed on the exchange yesterday.
The ETF is the fourth such collaboration between OCBC’s asset management and brokerage subsidiaries.
OCBC said the fund appeals to investors seeking consistent dividend yields. Investors in the ETF will receive a minimum dividend pay-out of 5 per cent a year of the issue price for the first two years, distributed quarterly.
“In recent years, markets have been uncertain. However, there is significant potential in the financial sector, particularly in Asia-Pacific,” Wilson He, managing director of OCBC Securities, said.
