WRISE Expands Academy Footprint In China

The Asian wealth management organisation has launched a number of these academies in mainland China.

WRISE, an Asia-based wealth management house, has officially launched its WRISE Academy in Wuxi, mainland China. The academy concentrates on family governance and talent development.

The Wuxi office, which follows locations in Shenzhen, Changsha and Chengdu, marks the fourth expansion of WRISE Academy across Mainland China.

This office will focus on education related to family governance, wealth succession and cultivation of next-generation family leaders, providing high net worth families with systematic governance guidance, succession planning resources, as well as learning support and networking platforms for family talent development, the firm said in a statement.

“Focusing on family governance and next generation development through WRISE Academy helps families build sustainable governance systems that support future generations,” Derrick Tan, group executive chairman of WRISE said.

Giving its rationale for the new offering, WRISE said the Yangtze River Delta region that includes Wuxi is a significant contributor to China's overall economic growth, with total exports from the region alone reaching RMB10.85 trillion in 2025, or 40.2 per cent of China's overall exports.

“Wuxi, located in the economic circle of the Yangtze River Delta, is home to a significant number of privately owned and family-run enterprises, where demand for succession planning is rising as founders prepare for generational transition. In this pivotal period of wealth and leadership transfer, family governance and next-generation leadership development are increasingly important priorities for high net worth families,” the firm said.

In April, WRISE Private Singapore deputy CEO, Jude Lin gave an interview to WealthBriefingAsia at the firm’s Singapore offices.

For years, UHNW individuals relied on traditional banks for product ideas and suitability which could lack transparency. WRISE. founded in 2022, has identified a gap in the market – providing independent advisory services that help mass affluent to ultra-high net worth individuals manage their wealth. This news service has interviewed Tan about the business model and his ambitions.
