Value Partners Names Risk Chief

The CRO has worked in similar senior roles at HSBC and BlackRock.

Value Partners Group has appointed David Wong as managing director and chief risk officer, taking effect from yesterday.

Wong has oversight and management control of the overall risk management function across the group’s Hong Kong headquarters and overseas offices. Based in Hong Kong, Wong reports to the group’s president, June Wong.

David Wong, who has worked in Hong Kong and Japan, has spent more than 20 years in the banking and asset management industry. Before this role, he was MD and regional head of internal audit, Asia-Pacific, at BlackRock. Prior to that, he spent nine years at HSBC, where he was regional chief risk officer at HSBC Global Asset management, Asia-Pacific, country chief risk officer at HSBC in Japan, and head of risk management at HSBC Investments Management. He also worked in risk management at Dah Sing Bank.
