Value Partners Appoints New Head Of Intermediaries, Asia-Pacific

The latest moves and appointments in Asia Pacific at asset management firm Value Partners.

Value Partners Group has appointed Vincent Ching as head of intermediaries for Asia-Pacific, to replace Wallace Tsang who is stepping down.

Starting in July, Ching will oversee the management and development of fund distribution management in the Asia-Pacific region and Hong Kong.

Based in Hong Kong, Ching will report to the group’s CEO, June Wong.

Ching has 18 years of experience in the fund management and financial services industry. Before his new role, he had been the group’s head of Hong Kong, retail distribution since 2019.

He first joined Value Partners in March 2015 as an associate director of intermediary business. Prior to joining Value Partners, Ching was vice president at BlackRock Asset Management North Asia, focusing on fund distribution business in Hong Kong and North Asia. He also had stints with First State Investments, the firm said.

Welcoming his appointment, Wong said: “He has done a very good job in running the Hong Kong Retail Business in the past, and I am excited to invite him for this bigger role to help Value Partners create further success.”

Wallace Tsang, the group’s regional head, intermediary business, Asia-Pacific, has meanwhile stepped back from his current responsibilities for family reasons. He will be departing from the group at the end of July, and will work with Ching and the team to ensure a seamless transition, the firm said. 

Wong thanked Tsang for his work, saying he was one of the key figures behind the success of Value Partners in the past decade.
