US Private Equity Manager Boosts Asia Team With Two Senior Hires

US private equity management firm Hamilton Lane hires two industry specialists to strengthen its Asia team.

US-based global private equity manager Hamilton Lane has strengthened its Asian business with the appointment of two senior executives.

Effective immediately, Mingchen Xia becomes a principal of the fund investment team, while Yen Li Chew assumes the role of vice president in the business development group. Both are based in Hong Kong.

Xia brings extensive investment management experience to the role, having worked fro Tokio Marine Asset Management, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities and Mizuho Securities. Prior to Hamilton Lane, he was a senior fund manager at Tokio Marine where he was responsible for private equity fund investment globally.

Chew joins from Oaktree Capital, where she was vice president for marketing and client relations. Previously, she worked for Morgan Stanley Asia, Pacific World Asset Management and KPMG.

The hires complement the company's efforts to expand in Asia, through existing offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Hamilton Lane has more than 200 employees worldwide and manages $170 billion assets.
