US financial services talent specialist Heidrick & Struggles expands in Australia through the acquisition of a local executive search firm.

Heidrick & Struggles, the US-based professional services firm that specialises in financial services talent, has expanded its Australia business with an acquisition.

The purchase of Scambler MacGregor, the Australian executive search firm, adds scale to Heidrick & Struggles' already extensive banking and investment management network in the country. As part of the deal, David Scambler and Craig Williams, co-founders, will join the US-headquartered firm as partners, along with their team of three support professionals. The group will be based in Sydney.

Since its establishment in 2005, Scambler MacGregor has built relationships in various financial services niches, including corporate and institutional banking, insurance, asset management and wealth management. Scambler himself brings some 20 years of executive search experience to this new role, while Williams has 18 years on his resume. 

Heidrick & Struggles currently has at least 15 offices across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, including branches in Sydney and Melbourne.
