UK's Thomas Miller Names New Business Development Director

The UK-based wealth management firm has a new director of business development.

Thomas Miller Investment, based in the UK, has appointed Bruce Ely-Johnston as business development director. He replaces Matt Lonsdale and is charged with helping drive the growth of the company’s intermediary and private client propositions.

Based in London, Ely-Johnston will be responsible for growing assets under management and revenues for Thomas Miller Investment’s wealth management division.

Previously he worked at Sanlam Private Investments as head of business development and at London & Capital as founder and head of advisor solutions. He has 15 years of experience across a variety of business development and advisory roles.

“This is an exciting time for Thomas Miller Investment as we look to expand our discretionary fund management and portfolio service. Bruce’s expertise will help us leverage our existing business relationships and build new ones as we continue to strengthen our private client offering,” said Mike Balfour, chief executive of Thomas Miller Investment.

“Bruce will be instrumental as we grow Thomas Miller Investment into one of the country’s leading investment and wealth management firms.”

On 16 July, Thomas Miller Investment announced the launch of a new UCITS compliant multi-asset fund.

The company has £2.9 billion ($4.51 billion) of assets under management. It has offices in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Southampton and the Isle of Man.
