UBS Optimus Foundation Head To Lead Roger Federer's Charity

The Optimus Foundation, founded in the late 1990s by UBS, focuses on social and environmental concerns. Among other objectives, it connects UBS clients with entrepreneurs, new technologies and models to achieve the UN Sustainable Development goals.

The head of the UBS Optimus Foundation, Maya Ziswiler, has left the post after a 12-year stint at the organisation, she has disclosed. She is off to work for the Roger Federer Foundation as its CEO.

“I am immensely proud of everything we have achieved and the lessons we have learned together over the past 12 years and am filled with a whirlwind of emotions as I close out this chapter,” Ziswiler said on her LinkedIn page.

“While this is a bittersweet moment for me, I am excited to continue working in collaboration as a partner of UBS Optimus in my new role as CEO of the Roger Federer Foundation following an extended summer break,” she said.

The current CEO of the Roger Federer Foundation is Janine Händel, who has headed the foundation for 14 years, according to her LinkedIn page, which has not yet been updated.

The UBS Optimus Foundation Network consists of the UBS Optimus Foundation in Switzerland, its branch in Hong Kong and the representative office in China, its sister organisations UBS Optimus Foundation Europe Deutschland, UBS Optimus Foundation UK and UBS Optimus Foundation Singapore, as well as a donation platform in the US. The Optimus Foundation was formed by UBS.
