UBS Appoints New General Counsel For Its Asia-Pacific Offices

The new general counsel for Asia-Pacific has joined the firm from the Royal Bank of Scotland.

UBS has appointed Dan Williams as general counsel wealth management and general counsel for its Asia-Pacific offices. Williams replaces Frances Wong, who will continue in her role as the Hong Kong general counsel and senior lawyer for Asia-Pacific.

Williams will report to Maria Leistner for his wealth management responsibilities and he will be a member of her management committee. In his regional role, Williams will report to Markus Diethelm and Kathy Shih, the bank said in a statement yesterday.

He joins the firm from Royal Bank of Scotland, where he has held various positions over the past 14 years. Most recently, he was the general counsel for corporate and institutional banking in London and prior to that, general counsel Asia-Pacific.
