Two New BNP Paribas Chief Executives Appointed In Asia

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has appointed two new chief executives to its Hong Kong and Japan offices.
Tino Moorrees takes the reins as the company’s Hong Kong chief executive, while Ryohei Shimazaki takes the top job at BNPP IP Japan.
Moorrees was previously chief executive for the Paris-based asset manager in Japan. He replaces Jean Audibert in the Hong Kong role who retired in September last year. The position had been temporarily filled by Asia-Pacific Chief executive Vincent Camerlynck. Moorrees has also been chief executive and president director at BNPP IP Indonesia in his time at the company.
Ryohei Shimazaki takes over Moorrees' role as chief executive of BNP Paribas Investment Partners Japan. Shimazaki comes from Baring Asset Management Japan, where he was president and representative director.
Moorrees starts his role with immediate effect, while Shimazaki took over on June 25. Both report into Vincent Camerlynck.
“These appointments demonstrate our ambitions and commitments towards our businesses in Hong Kong and Japan,” Camerlynck said.
The bank also appointed Paul Yang as regional head for Greater China, as well as head of country for China, with effect from 1 September 2014. The responsibilities are in addition to his current roles of head of country for Hong Kong and CEO of BNP Paribas’ Hong Kong Branch. Based in Hong Kong, Yang reports to Eric Raynaud, chief executive officer of BNP Paribas Asia Pacific.
