Top ASEAN, South Asia Private Banking Figure Leaves Standard Chartered
One of the most senior figures for StanChart in the ASEAN region has left the bank.
Cédric Lizin, regional head, ASEAN and South Asia, and global head, global South Asia community, private banking, has left the bank, we can confirm.
The bank told this news service yesterday: "We can confirm that Cedric Lizin is leaving Standard Chartered Bank to pursue other opportunities. We thank Cedric for his dedication and hard work in navigating the private banking business in the region."
Lizin was appointed to his role in December 2019. Prior to Standard Chartered, he was most recently head of wealth management and senior executive officer for UBS in Dubai. Prior to that, Lizin headed the Middle East and Africa offshore and Japan onshore wealth management businesses at Barclays. He also worked at Credit Suisse, Fortis and McKinsey earlier in his career.
Among recent changes, Standard Chartered Singapore’s head of private, business and consumer banking, Dwaipayan Sadhu, was made CEO of the lender’s digital bank venture with NTUC’s enterprise arm.
In early August, Standard Chartered announced that consumer, private and business banking pre-tax profit for the six months to 30 June had surged by 42 per cent year-on-year to $1.821 billion. For the UK-listed banking group, underlying pre-tax profit was $2.682 billion, rising by 37 per cent.
