Tilney Bestinvest Appoints Midlands Industry Luminary

London-headquartered Tilney Bestinvest has appointed Midlands wealth management veteran Martin King as its new investment managing director.
UK wealth manager Tilney Bestinvest has hired Signia Wealth's Martin King as managing director for investment management to enhance business in the Midlands.
Based in Birmingham, King will be responsible for driving the company's investment offering to the region's key client and ultra-high net worth market.
He joins from Signia Wealth, where he was managing director and head of regions. In this role, he set up Signia's Birmingham office. He previously worked at UBS Wealth Management, where he was executive director and founded the company's Midlands office.
King's 25-year career in the industry also includes positions at Kleinwort Benson Private Bank and Singer & Friedlander.
“Martin is a major player in the wealth management industry, with an outstanding track record of working with Ultra High Net Worth clients. We are delighted to welcome him to the team,” said Tilney Bestinvest's chief investment officer, Gareth Lewis.
The company has been busy bulking up its Midlands team, most recently with the addition of Cathy Greary as an associate director within the Northampton-based financial planning team.
Tilney Bestinvest currently looks after £9 billion ($13 billion) in assets and employs nearly 400 staff across its network of UK-wide offices.
