New Office
Taylor Wessing's Asian Growth Ambitions Take Shape

The international law firm has forged an alliance with a Hong Kong law firm, following on from an opening of a new office in Vietnam.
Taylor Wessing, the international law firm, has formed an official association between one of its newly-established branches and Hong Kong HM Chan & Co. The move also shortly follows Taylor Wessing’s office launch in Vietnam.
HM Chan & Co advises clients on corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and regulatory and compliance matters. The firm advises a number of pre-IPO investments, Hong Kong mainboard listings and potential public takeovers.
In addition, the two firms are looking to increase their capabilities across their combined offering in the areas of regulatory investigations and enforcement, arbitration and intellectual property, according to a statement yesterday.
Through the association Mark Chan, managing partner of HM Chan & Co, will work with German corporate partner Dr Jakob Riemenschneider, who has relocated to Hong Kong to head up the Taylor Wessing branch. Dr Riemenschneider has extensive experience advising European and Asian clients on cross-border corporate transactions and commercial activities. He will focus on inbound and outbound opportunities presented by the Hong Kong market.
The new Hong Kong office adds to Taylor Wessing’s footprint in Asia, which comprises a network of more than 950 lawyers in Southeast Asia operating through its "ASEAN+ group". Internationally, the firm has 33 offices, operating in 20 jurisdictions.
Among recent moves, Taylor Wessing entered into an association with Alsulaim Alawaji & Partners Law Firm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition, the firm also announced last week that RHTLaw Taylor Wessing has opened a new office in Vietnam. The launch of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing Vietnam brought together PBCPARTNERS and RHTLaw Taylor Wessing.
