Swiss Law Firm Names Former Central Bank Figure As Partner

Prior to this role, Dr Jakob Schaad held numerous senior positions at the Swiss National Bank and at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC.
Lindemann Law, the Swiss firm, has appointed Dr Jakob Schaad as a partner.
Dr Schaad will head and expand the firm’s new government relations and lobbying department. He will advise on public affairs and governmental relations, forming regulatory developments throughout all executive and legislative levels both in Switzerland and beyond. Moreover, Dr Schaad will manage complex asset management and other projects at the intersection of public policy and business. Dr Schaad focuses on economic and regulatory policy; particularly where financial services are concerned. His experience spans 25 years in both the private and public sectors.
Prior to this role, Dr Schaad held numerous senior positions at the Swiss National Bank and at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. During the global financial and ensuing economic crisis, he served as the Economic Policy Advisor to Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard, who was the Swiss Minister of Economic Affairs at the time.
More recently, Dr Schaad was vice director at the Swiss think-tank Avenir Suisse and advised a wealthtech start-up. Dr Schaad holds a PhD in economics of the University of Zurich and is an affiliate member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Switzerland.
The law firm’s jurisdictions comprise Luxembourg, Cayman Islands, Malta, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. It has particular expertise in Russian-speaking countries of the CIS.
