Swiss Bank Embraces Eastern Mysticism

Geneva-based Banque Piguet has applied the ancient Chinese practice of "Feng Shui" to its newly-established office in Hong Kong to energise its business.

Michael Chan, who heads the private bank's Hong Kong unit, told Swiss newspaper L'Agéfi: "The Feng Shui of our offices was optimised to make it possible for energies to circulate and our businesses to thrive.”

The Swiss bank, which is 80 per cent owned by Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, opened its first overseas office in Hong Kong in March.

It aims to offer asset management and private banking in China, and to benefit from the demand for wealth management services and the introduction of the QDII Scheme.
