Swiss Bank Confirms Names Of More NRI Hires In Asia

This publication can confirm the names of two hires who recently joined a Swiss-headquartered private bank expanding its NRI coverage in Asia.

Following the report in this publication on 17 June that EFG Bank, the Swiss bank, hired Amrit Uppal from Barclays Wealth and Investment Management to lead its non-resident Indian business, two additional moves can be confirmed.

Rupinder Sehmi and Jagjit Matharu, also formerly of Barclays, have joined EFG, this publication understands.

WealthBriefingAsia had heard that two people had moved with Uppal to EFG but had not confirmed the names of these individuals at the time.

In June, EFG said it will continue to recruit more non-resident Indian client coverage professionals both in Asia and the UK.

Later in June, Kong Eng Huat is a well-known figure in the Singapore and South East Asian private banking industry, who took over as the Singapore chief executive at EFG Bank, spoke to this news service about the business and its strategy. To see that article in full, click here.
