Weisshorn Re, the Zurich-headquartered firm providing reinsurance and capital management solutions to life insurers and annuity providers, has chosen wealth management veteran Patrick Kelleher as chief executive. It also has a branch in Bermuda.

Weisshorn Re, the Zurich-headquartered firm providing reinsurance and capital management solutions to life insurers and annuity providers, has chosen wealth management veteran Patrick Kelleher as chief executive, it said yesterday.  The firm also has a branch in Bermuda.

Kelleher was formerly president and CEO, US life insurance and president & CEO, insurance and wealth management, overseeing European lifestyle protection and wealth management businesses within Genworth Financial, according to a statement from Weisshorn Re.  He is also a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada.

Weisshorn Re, the statement added, will provide reinsurance and capital management solutions to life insurance and annuity insurers. Licence applications are pending final regulatory approval in Switzerland and Bermuda.
