Standard Chartered Private Bank Makes Senior HK Hire

The private bank has recruited a senior figure for its managed investments business.

Standard Chartered Private Bank yesterday confirmed it has appointed Tracy Chan as director for managed investments distribution. Chan is based in Hong Kong.

When asked about an unsourced report on the matter, the UK-listed bank confirmed the move.

Chan provides advice on managed investment solutions to Standard Chartered’s relationship managers, investment advisors and clients in Hong Kong. She reports to Jason Yeung, head of managed investments distribution for Hong Kong.

Before this, Chan was director of funds and exchange-traded funds at HSBC Private Banking for two years. Before that, she was a director at Swiss bank Julius Baer.

A few days ago, Standard Chartered reported a 25 per cent year-on-year rise in underlying profit for the nine months to 30 September 2018, with the result coming in at $3.4 billion. In the three-month period the figure was $1.069 billion, up by 31 per cent on a year ago. After tax, profit in Q3 was $752 million, up by 35 per cent and beating consensus forecasts.
