Standard Chartered Private Bank Adds Senior Managers In Singapore

Standard Chartered Private Bank said it has appointed Shobha Gopinath as head of legal, compliance and assurance, based in

Singapore.

Ms Gopinath will report to Jamie Kelly, who was recently appointed head of legal, compliance and assurance for the Standard Chartered Consumer Banking business, and Peter Flavel, global head of the private bank. She was previously head of compliance for wholesale banking, Standard Chartered. 

In addition, the private bank has made two further key appointments to its legal and compliance team, reporting to Ms Gopinath. Christopher Lee has been named as global head of legal, based in

Singapore, while Justine Toh has been appointed global head of compliance.

Mr Lee previously worked for American Express Bank, while Ms Toh was most recently group head of compliance for CLSA.  Ms Toh succeeds Frank Veyder, who is moving into a new role as global head of intermediaries.
